McCloud is expanding its sustainable plans further and further. As of today, no less than 24 solar panels are shining on the roof of the cloud vendor. The choice for solar energy was a logical step, since McCloud tries to deliver its services in the most sustainable way. We have already chosen an extremely energy-efficient way to store data, which uses only 3 watts per terabyte. We also use data centers that use 100% certified green electricity from biomass, wind and water. The solar panels are expected to make 5,000 kWh per year and will almost completely provide the energy consumption of our office.
“Sustainability is an important part of our mission and strategy. We hope that many companies will follow, ” said Ron Kooi, director of McCloud.
