Why migrate to the cloud?

BDWZ engages in activities in several phases of the construction process. They maintain houses, remodel them and supervise construction projects. BDWZ is working at different times and at multiple locations throughout the Netherlands. The benefits that cloud computing offers, work flexible and efficient, were therefore very appealing for BDWZ. At the moment when Jeroen Wijker, who satisfactorily maintained the ICT of BDWZ for years and, came up with a proposal with his new company McCloud, the choice was easy. Peter Starreveld: "We were very enthusiastic about the proposal, both in planning and budget it met our requirements."

And so it happened, BDWZ migrated to the cloud.

The service

BDWZ now has multiple servers running in the cloud. These servers are connected to the Internet. Employees can login with any device and connect to the server in the data center. Here they access their familiar desktop environment, including well-known programs. Printers, emails, calendar appointments, and files can be easily used and shared. Since all operations and heavy calculations take place on the server, no heavy files are sent over the connection. In this way all processes are fast and the work can continue without interruption.

The advantages

"Previously we worked with regular PCs and with a traditional ICT structure. When we started working with the cloud, we noticed a substantial difference in internet speed " says Mr. Starreveld. In addition, the employees of BDWZ can not only acces their desktop and data at the office, but also at home, on site and on the road. Colleagues are now able to give each other feedback quickly and easily and workflows run more smoothly. Since reliability of the up-time is very important for BDWZ, they were very happy by the use of multiple data centers by McCloud. Because of these multiple data centers, files are always available.
